MY SCRIPT

Hello my names Jack keen and I have been riding bikes since 2006 I started riding mini motos in 2006 at a local indoor circuit and clicked with it straight away. I was only riding a Chinese import bike and I was riding to hard for the bike so we decided to get GRC mini moto. I done a few rounds in 2007 in the southern mini moto championship it was this year when Trevor at havoc racing spotted me and kept an eye on my riding and racing At the end of 2007 he asked me to ride for havoc racing and I did so in 2008 I rode a 6.2 GRC air-cooled and 8.5 GRC proddy. I rode the bike in the national series and the semrc southern series I won every race on the proddy and air-cooled I entered in the semrc championship and won the both classes I had to miss rounds to compete in the national series and I won the air-cooled class again with races to spare. I also won a lot of the races in the proddy class but had a few crashes and I missed the last round to test and race a 125. that year I ended up winning 3 championships with havoc racing.

We got the aprilia rs 125 towards the end of 2008 and I did a local MRO round at snetterton. We went there and didn’t know a lot about the aprilia it was also my first time riding a gearbox bike. The first day was a wet day so I was nervous about riding the aprilia I went out on track and rode around gradually getting quicker and gelling with the bike. Race day 1 and was dry so I felt more confident I went out on track and the bike felt different again because the track was dry I got to a good pace and was running midfield straight away. I qualified in 12 I was happy with that and my confidence grew I got a DNF due to exhaust braking 13th 10th 13th. For my first time on the bike I was reasonably happy with that. 2009 we signed up to race in Thundersport GB aprilia superteens cup. We went to the first round with no high expectations when there were 44 bikes on the grid. I did better than I thought for my second time on the bike I finished in the top 10 and was happy again. During the season I had some really good results with newcomer podiums and more top 10 finishes. Mid season i broke my collar bone practising. This set me back a bit because I missed a 2 round it set me back. I worked my way back up and got podium finishes at the MRO rounds and got my first win at brands hatch in September as this was my first year I was happy with how I done we used the year as a learning year for my riding and the set up of the bikes. I’m going in to the 2010 season with high expectations and I want to be winning races from the start and hopefully the championship as well.

As the championship is televised it could be very beneficial for sponsors.

I’m hoping that the 2010 season is going to help me take the next step up in racing.

2010 was a very successful year for me in The Aprilia Superteens Championship with Havoc Racing. Starting off the season with some good finishes in first round at Mallory park with four top 6 finishes, this gave me high spirit and was keen and hungry for podiums and race wins from there on and in the next few rounds I achieved that, becoming a regular podium finisher leaving me sitting in 3rd and 4th In the championship through the season. When we arrived at Snetterton I was hungry for my first race win of the year!!! And I did just that in the first race and also rounded the weekend off as the highest points scorer. I also done a north Gloucester round at Snetterton winning!!! All four races.

Heading towards the end of the seasons we had bad luck hit us, with mechanical faults and crashes, I crashed to times at Cadwell park the first crash I was in second place and the second crash I was leading the Race with 1 lap to go, the crashes came from being down on power with the bike and pushing to hard. We also had a mechanical fault that weekend which left us with 3 non finishes out of 4 races dropping me down to 6th in the championship. With only a couple rounds to go I had to push hard and stay focused to try and move up the leader board, I got some good finishes at Brands hatch whilst riding with an injured Wrist which I damaged at Cadwell park, this moved me up back into forth in the championship and heading into the last round at Donnington park we started off the weekend with mechanical problems on my wet bike so ment I had to ride my dry bike in practise and qualifying and also encountered problems with the rear shock, I qualified 12th and had to push hard in the Wet and damp races I was up to 5th position on lap 1 when another rider crashed in front of me resulting in me hitting his bike and that was the end of that race but dropping me back down to 5th in the championship It left me with a near impossible chance to catch back upto 3rd and 4th in the championship but I pushed on and tried my hardest and finished in a strong 5th position in a ultra competitive race series with over 44 riders competing.

2011 I have been given a brilliant opportunity with Havoc racing to compete in the DUCATI 848 CHALLENGE.
The season starts April the 22nd  at Brands hatch followed by
Assen (Holland)
Thruxton (England)
Monza (Italy)
Brands hatch (England)
Cadwell park (England)
Castle combe (England)
Silverstone arena GP (England)

The series will run along side the British Superbikes Championship and also at the European rounds it will be run at the World Ducati week!

This year I will be Running for Havoc racing in a 2 man team, my team mate will be Dan Hopkins, Dan has rode for havoc racing for a number of years and you can check out his profile on the havoc site aswell.

The bikes we will be running are Ducati 848 Evo’s this is a big step for me and will require me to put a lot of work in with practise and preparing my self mentally and physically by doing a lot of gym work and running.
